Young Austrian Tenor Martin Friedlich Lechleitner studied in Innsbruck and Vienna, where he performed in various roles during his studies, among them Contino Belfiore (Mozart: La Finta Giradiniera), Knusperhexe (Humperndinck: Hänsel und Gretel), als Beppe (Leoncavallo: I Pagliacci) and Don Basilio (Mozart: Le Nozze di Figaro).

In 2017 he gave his debut at Tiroler Landestheater als Nathanael (Offenbach: Les contes d’Hoffmann) and as Tamino (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte) at Schlosstheater Schönbrunn. He also performed in various operettas, among them Alfred (Strauß: Die Fledermaus) at Coburger Operettensommer, in an Operette Gala in St. Petersburg and as Graf Gustl von Pottenstein (Lehàr: Das Land des Lächelns) at the prestigious operetta festival of Seefestspiele Mörbisch in 2019. In the 2019/20 season, ge have his role debiut as Pedrillo (Mozart: Die Entführung aus dem Serail) at Den Jyske Opera Aahus.

​Further engagements will bring him to Neue Oper Wien, where he will perform in Dai Fukijura’s Solaris in spring 2021.

Another focus in Martin’s activities is laid on the music of the 20s and 30s, a repertoire that he explores regularly in collaboration with the Austrian orchestra Divertimento Viennese. Performances also include appearances at famous Viennese balls (Kaffeesiederball, Wiener Ball der Wissenschaften, Ball der Wiener Philharmoniker, among others).

He is passionate about the music of the 20th century and contemporary music. Notable is his interpretation of Schönberg’s Pierrot Lunaire. He created the role of Wilfried Owen in the world premiere of Norbert Zehm’s opera Strange Meeting. He regularly collaborates with contemporary composers and performed their music.
