Eva-Maria Schmid

Soprano

The Austrian Soprano Eva-Maria Schmid has been engaged at the Oper Graz  since the 2019/20 season, where she has performed Zerlina (Mozart: Don Giovanni), Katja (Weinberg: The Passenger) and Una Voce dal Cielo (Verdi: Don Carlo). In 2020 she sings the cantata “Wie der Hirsch schrei” (op. 42) by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in the Brucknerhaus Linz.

In 2018 she was a semi-finalist at the International Mozart Competition Salzburg, made her debut in the Wiener Konzerthaus and sang a recital at the Austrian-Greek Summer of Music in Athens. Here further engagments also included Rosina (Mozart: La Finta Semplice) at the Munich Chamber Opera, Pauline (Offenbach: Pariser Leben) at the Theater an der Rott, Puppi (Waldek: Liebesluft) at the Landestheater Linz and at the Festival am Semmering as Contessa (Mozart: Le Nozze di Figaro). She also performed at the Merano Theater and the Steyr Music Festival

Eva-Maria Schmid is active on the recital and concert stage. She has performed at the Musikverein Wien, Brucknerhaus Linz, Operettentheater Kiew, at the International Brucknerfest Linz and at the Kraków Philharmonic with the Graz Philharmonic, at the Festival Sinfonietta Linz Orchestra with ?????the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra or the Salzburg Baroque Orchestra. In the field of sacred music, it can be heard in the Augustinian Church in Vienna or in St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. / do we need this ?

In 2017 Eva-Maria Schmid completed her master’s degree in song and oratorio with Florian Boesch and Robert Holl in the singing class of Edith Lienbacher with honors from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW). Previously, she completed the master’s degree in vocal pedagogy and the master’s degree in music education / instrumental music education (voice, piano) with Lydia Vierlinger at the MDW as well as the operetta course at the Music and Art University of the City of Vienna with Wolfgang Dosch. Eva-Maria Schmid worked in master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Cheryl Studer, Romualdo Savastano, Angelika Kirchschlager, Gerhard Kahry, Helena Lazarska, Gerd Uecker and Norman Shetler.
